Live the Pura Vida this summer and celebrate with the local ticos during these June and July holidays in Costa Rica. Apply for a Greenheart Travel volunteer or language school program by April 26th and arrive in time for these unique festivities:

June 29 – Saints Peter and Paul Day

  • Enjoy street festivals during this religious holiday that includes, food, music and dancing.

Closest Saturday to July 16 – Dia de la Virgen del Mar

  • These festivities include a parade of colorfully decorated fishing boats and religious festivities (masses), parades, concerts, dances, sporting contests and fireworks.

July 25 – Guanacaste Day

  • Join the locals in celebrating the annexation of the “Partido de Nicoya” in 1824, known today as the province of Guanacaste, with fiestas, folk dances, topes, cattle shows, bullfights, and concerts.
