A Visit to the Green Monastery in the Republic of Georgia

photo essay by Kenneth Monette, Greenheart Travel Teach Abroad Participant in Georgia

I wanted to share some photos from excursion hosted by TLG during my teach program in Georgia. We spent the day exploring the Green Monastery in eastern Borjomi, and then traveled on to visit the cave city of Vardzia, which was really amazing.

It ended up being a really nice day, although it started out pouring rain, but the sun appeared just in time for a good picnic lunch, WITH AMERICAN SANDWICHES. I almost forgot what they were! We also had some cognac to wash them down too!

  2. Hello Ken,

I’m about to depart for Georgia and I was just wondering if you’ve had any safety-related problems while you were over there? Thanks!

    • Hi Lindsey,

I haven’t had any safety-related problems at all here in Georgia. I along with other TLG teachers in different regions here have felt very safe including when we travel throughout the country, so no need to worry about that. Have a nice journey over and best of luck to you! Ken
