Kutaisi Revisited – What a difference three months makes in Georgia

photo essay by Heidi Gatzke, Greenheart Travel Teach Abroad participant in Georgia

The first city in Georgia I visited during my teach abroad program outside of Tbilisi was Kutaisi, in February.  Three months later I visited again and the change was dramatic!

Here is a shot of Bagrati Cathedral, and although the weather conditions had changed, the reconstruction seemed to be on hold.

The palm tree at Gelati Monestary – covered in snow in February and in full bloom in May!

Even the sky was brighter – looking out over the city of Kutaisi in February and May.
