Greenheart Travel Participates in the 2010 Summer Opportunities Fair

by Jill Robinson

The stained glass windows of the Chicago Hope Academy saturated the walls in yellow on an otherwise grey morning, Feb. 15; a fitting decor for the 2010 Summer Opportunities Fair. Every year on President’s Day, the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund, a non-profit organization that provides high school scholarships and educational support services to economically disadvantaged Chicago students, hosts this informational fair. Throughout the morning, over 200 scholars browsed the tables, learning about additional academic, travel and business programs they could participate in over their summer break.

Greenheart Travel was one of 25 organizations represented yesterday, offering a scholarship opportunity of our own. The Center for Cultural Interchange will be awarding five students from the DMSF an all-expense paid, ten-day trip to Costa Rica this summer. Students who are accepted will not only learn about the culture, but will participate in environmental volunteer projects, enjoy numerous excursions and live with host families during their stay.

About Greenheart Travel

CCI Greenheart Travel is personally invested in providing cultural immersion programs that change lives, advance careers and create leaders. We achieve this by partnering with organizations and governments overseas that empower their local communities through experiential learning and practical development. We provide others with the same positive travel experiences in which we ourselves engage. Through travel and cultural exchange, we help individuals reach their full potential, leading to a more tolerant, peaceful and environmentally sustainable world.
